QUESTIONS ABOUT SEEING JOHN
Q: How can I find out if John is coming to a place near me this year?
As meetings get confirmed, we place the information on our itinerary page so keep an eye out for a meeting near you.
Q: If I can’t seem to find the meeting I was looking for on the itinerary. Does that mean that it has been cancelled?
Yes, on rare occasions, meetings can be rescheduled, cancelled or the venue is altered if you can no longer find them on the itinerary, this may be the case. We will put up the new details as soon as possible.
Q: Do we need to book or just turn up at a meeting?
There is no need to book to come to a meeting, you are most welcome to just turn up (and bring your friends!).
Q: Does it cost anything to come to a meeting?
No, all meetings are free unless they are advertised as teaching seminars. Those details will be included in the advertising of those meetings.
Q: Does it cost anything to receive healing?
Absolutely not! Healing is a free gift from God - it should never be ‘for sale’. If you would like to, you can donate to John’s ministry through love offerings collected at one of his meetings, or via the Make a Donation button on the front page of this site. Alternatively, you can buy one of his resources.
Q: Does John pray for the sick at all meetings or only sometimes?
John will always pray for the sick at a meeting unless it is a teaching seminar or if time will not allow it. For example, some churches have two morning meetings with only a short gap in between. When this happens, John is sometimes unable to spend much time praying for people directly after the first service, because the church needs to set up for the second service. Wherever possible, John will pray for as many people as he can.
Q: Should I try to attend lots of meetings, or will one meeting be enough if I am in need of healing?
It is always beneficial to attend as many meetings as possible, as some healings may not happen instantly and some are a process. It is also beneficial to be in the atmosphere of faith to receive healing, as the Bible says that: ‘faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God’ Romans 10:17 (NKJV).
We have experienced many people being totally healed of chronic illnesses after a few meetings.
Q: How can I see John if I can’t get to a meeting, are there other alternatives to receive healing prayers?
We always encourage you to try to come to a meeting, and many people come from long distances (across Australia and even from New Zealand!). However, if this is not possible, perhaps a friend could come to the meeting for you and ask John to pray with them. You can also send in your prayer request to us (via the Contact Us page) and our team will pray for you.
Q: Can you help us with directions to the meetings?
Unfortunately, we can’t, as our support team is small and is unable to field that many enquiries. The best thing to do is either ring the church that is hosting the meeting directly for local guidance, or search the internet for more details.
Q: Is there a chance to catch up with John during the week when he doesn’t have meetings?
John is not available outside meetings as there are so many needs that he would quickly burn out. There is also much time needed to pray and prepare for new meetings.
QUESTIONS ABOUT JOHN’S TEACHING SEMINARS
Q: When will John have another Healing Seminar?
All Healing Seminars will be listed in the itinerary page on this website as soon as information becomes available.
Q: Do we need to register before we turn up at a Seminar?
No, there is no need to pre-register for a seminar unless it is stated on the itinerary. However, it may be helpful for the hosting church to know how many are coming, so you can give them a call in advance if you prefer.
Q: Why attend the seminar?
- Did you know that God doesn’t always heal people instantly? The seminar will teach you the different ways that God heals.
- Do you know what the blockages are to receiving healing? The seminar will teach you what the main barriers are and how to deal with them.
- Did you know that people can lose their healing? Come to the seminar and learn how to keep your healing.
- Do you know how to pray for the sick? Come and learn how, and receive impartation of the healing gift from John.
Q: Who should attend?
Ministers, church leaders, prayer teams, those who want to learn more about healing, those who are seeking healing and those who would like to pray for the sick, as well as the curious and sceptics, will all be enriched and encouraged by John’s teaching and ministry.
Q: Bookings and Cost?
For most seminars, there is no need to book. There is a small cost to attend the teaching seminar to support John’s ministry. Details can be found on John’s itinerary.
Q: What to bring?
Bring a pen and paper for note taking. Refreshments will be provided by the hosting church.
QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALING - written by Peter Cavanna
Help! I am not Healed!
As much as I am excited to see people receive their healing in John Mellor’s meetings, I am always very concerned for those who feel that nothing has happened to them. In most healing services, there always seem to be just as many, if not more, who are not healed as are healed. What should someone do if they have come with faith to receive prayer and they still don’t feel any better? Don’t be discouraged. Many people have faced this issue. I trust that these thoughts will be helpful to you in your journey to being made whole.
1. Remember that healing is sometimes a process, not just an instantaneous event.
Many of the testimonies of healing that we hear are very dramatic. In the context of evangelism, God performs instant miracles so that the lost will be convinced of the Gospel. But many receive divine healing from the Lord over a period of time. In the New Testament, Epaphroditus (Philippians 2:27), Timothy (1 Timothy 5:23), Trophimus (2 Timothy 4:20) and Paul (Galatians 4:13-14) were each on the journey to healing like many of us. God does not always do instant miracles, but He has promised to be our healer (James 5:14-16). Whether it takes minutes, months or even years, the important thing is that we get healed - and not always in the way that we would imagine!
2. Healing may be a question of timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
Perhaps God wants to do some work on our character, and to use the difficulty to help us (2 Corinthians 12:8-9). Perhaps our healing will bring God greater glory if it comes later, as with Lazarus (John 11:6). The lame man healed at the Gate (Acts 3:8) was probably seen by Jesus on numerous occasions, but he remained unhealed until the time was right. Many came to the Lord as a result. We should trust in the Lord’s wisdom. I promise that you haven’t been forgotten!
3. We should never give up!
Jesus said, “Ask and it will given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). This amazing promise must be balanced with the Lord’s other teaching on prayer which is that we need to be persistent (Luke 11:5-8; 18:1-8). Just as Naaman had to dip in the Jordan seven times (2 Kings 5:10), there is good reason to keep on asking for healing. Sometimes having faith involves coming back for prayer repeatedly even though we feel no different. Don’t give up! Pray until something happens!
4. Does personal sin block healing?
There are some instances of this in the Bible (John 5:14 and Revelation 2:22). God may want to challenge us in the area of forgiveness (Mark 11:25), or some other sin (James 5:16). But while it might be useful to ask these sorts of questions, we shouldn’t take this to be the normal case by any means. Nobody’s perfect and all healing comes from God’s grace.
5. Do I have enough faith to be healed?
While it is certainly essential to exercise our faith in healing, it only needs to be the size of a mustard seed (Luke 17:6) and we all have that! So when you have received prayer, expect to recover. This is often best demonstrated by attempting to do something you couldn’t do before. We often find that the miracle happens at that moment!
6. What about taking my medicine?
I believe that until you have been checked by your doctor, you should never stop taking any essential medicines. This is really important. Taking your medicine will not “unheal you” if God has healed you, so let the doctor be the one to take you off your medication. This is not doubt or unbelief and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s just sensible. Just as the sailors on Jonah’s ship prayed and then took practical steps to help themselves (Jonah 1:5), so it is perfectly alright to pray and also to visit a doctor. Even the Apostle Paul encouraged Timothy to take his medicine (1 Timothy 5:23). If God has healed you, the doctor will be able to confirm it (even if they won’t be able to make medical sense of it!).
7. Stay in the Word.
Our faith for healing should be rooted in the Word of God. While you are waiting for your healing, take time to study the numerous scriptures concerning healing. As you meditate on these things (Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 1:2), the Word will work in you like a seed in the ground (Mark 4:26-28). Then, as you come for prayer, or as you pray at home, you can put your faith in God’s promise and stand upon it.
8. Always be honest.
Although we are encouraged to have faith, if we don’t feel better there is no shame in owning up to that! That doesn’t change the truth about healing. Remember the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:25-34) and Abraham and Sarah (Romans 4:19-21). The “facts” were that the woman was ill and Sarah was barren, but the “truth” was that Jesus was a healer (and still is!). Some may feel slightly better after prayer but know that they are certainly not fully cured. We should thank God even for a small change and seek further improvement through our own personal prayers or by coming for further ministry in church.
So What Shall I Do Now?
• Be encouraged to come for prayer whenever you aren’t well. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t visit the doctor - even Paul had a physician travelling with him (Colossians 4:14). But we want to commit all things to God and look to Him.
• Come expectant! The worst thing that could happen is that you can begin to get better. The best is that you can receive an instant miraculous cure!
• Allow the prayer minister to do the praying, rather than you. This is not the time for you to pray but to receive. It is impossible to drink and speak at the same time!
• Don’t be concerned about falling. Some people fall over when they receive prayer and that can be a wonderful thing. But this is certainly not essential and didn’t happen in Jesus’ ministry!
• After prayer, begin to do something you haven’t been able to do before. You might be amazed at what has happened!
• If you don’t feel any better, there is no need to make anything up. But don’t be discouraged: you have moved a step closer to being healed than you were before.
• If you truly feel healed, go back to your doctor and have him check you out.
Keeping your Healing
It is not uncommon for people who receive healing to sometimes face a battle to “keep the healing” later. Don’t be astonished if after some weeks or months, or even the next morning, you sense some of the symptoms trying to creep back. While this may shake your faith, this isn’t the time to be upset or disappointed but rather, it is the time to fight! Tell the condition to go because it has no mastery over you and refuse to return to an “ill mindset”. Don’t forget to stay in prayer, read and meditate on the Word and be among a community of faith-filled believing Christians.
Scriptures for Meditation

Matthew 14:35-36 “People brought all their sick to Jesus and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched him were healed”
James 5: 14-15 “Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well”
James 4:7 ”Resist the devil and he will flee!”
Jeremiah 30:17 ”For I will restore you to health and I will heal you of your wounds”
Exodus 15:26 “For I, the Lord, am your healer”
Isaiah 53:5 ”But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed”
John 10:10 ”The thief (Satan) comes only to kill, steal and destroy. I came that they might have life and might have it abundantly”
Mark 16:18 ”They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover”
John 14:13 ”And whatever you may ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son”
SUPPORTING SCRIPTURES FOR THE ABOVE TEACHING
1. Remember that healing is sometimes a process, not just an instantaneous event.
Philippians 2:27 “Indeed he was sick and almost died. But God had pity on him, and not only on him but on me, too, and spared me an even greater sorrow”
1 Timothy 5:23 ”Do not drink water only, but take a little wine to help your digestion, since you are sick so often”
2 Timothy 4:20 “Erastus stayed in Corinth, and I left Trophimus in Miletus because he was sick”
Galatians 4:13-14 “You remember why I preached the gospel to you the first time; it was because I was sick. But even though my physical condition was a great trial to you, you did not despise or reject me. Instead, you received me as you would an angel from heaven; you received me as you would Christ Jesus”
James 5:14 “Are any among you sick? They should send for the church elders, who will pray for them and rub olive oil on them in the name of the Lord”
James 5:15 “This prayer made in faith will heal the sick; the Lord will restore them to health, and the sins they have committed will be forgiven”
2. Healing may be a question of timing (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
2 Corinthians 12:7-9 “But to keep me from being puffed up with pride because of the many wonderful things I saw, I was given a painful physical ailment, which acts as Satan’s messenger to beat me and keep me from being proud. Three times I prayed to the Lord about this and asked him to take it away. But His answer was: ‘My grace is all you need, for my power is greatest when you are weak.’ I am most happy, then, to be proud of my weaknesses, in order to feel the protection of Christ’s power over me.”
2 Corinthians 12:10 “I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and difficulties for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
John 11:14-45 “So Jesus told them plainly, ‘Lazarus is dead, but for your sake I am glad that I was not with him, so that you will believe. Let us go to him.’ Thomas (called the Twin) said to his fellow disciples, ‘Let us all go along with the Teacher, so that we may die with him!’ When Jesus arrived, he found that Lazarus had been buried four days before.
Bethany was less than two miles from Jerusalem, and many Judeans had come to see Martha and Mary to comfort them about their brother’s death. When Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went out to meet him, but Mary stayed in the house. Martha said to Jesus, ‘If you had been here, Lord, my brother would not have died! But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask him for.’
‘Your brother will rise to life,’ Jesus told her. ‘I know,’ she replied, ‘that he will rise to life on the last day.’
Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will live, even though they die; and those who live and believe in me will never die. Do you believe this?’
‘Yes, Lord!’ she answered. ‘I do believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.’
After Martha said this, she went back and called her sister Mary privately. ‘The Teacher is here,’ she told her, ‘and is asking for you.’ When Mary heard this, she got up and hurried out to meet him. (Jesus had not yet arrived in the village, but was still in the place where Martha had met him.) The people who were in the house with Mary comforting her followed her when they saw her get up and hurry out. They thought that she was going to the grave to weep there.
Mary arrived where Jesus was, and as soon as she saw him, she fell at his feet. ‘Lord,’ she said, ‘if you had been here, my brother would not have died!’ Jesus saw her weeping, and he saw how the people with her were weeping also; his heart was touched, and he was deeply moved.
‘Where have you buried him?’ he asked them. ‘Come and see, Lord,’ they answered. Jesus wept.
‘See how much he loved him!’ the people said. But some of them said, ‘He gave sight to the blind man, didn’t he? Could he not have kept Lazarus from dying?’ Deeply moved once more, Jesus went to the tomb, which was a cave with a stone placed at the entrance.
‘Take the stone away!’ Jesus ordered. Martha, the dead man’s sister, answered, ‘There will be a bad smell, Lord. He has been buried four days!’ Jesus said to her, ‘Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believed?’ They took the stone away. Jesus looked up and said, ‘I thank you, Father, that you listen to me. I know that you always listen to me, but I say this for the sake of the people here, so that they will believe that you sent me.’
After he had said this, he called out in a loud voice, ‘Lazarus, come out!’ He came out, his hands and feet wrapped in grave cloths, and with a cloth around his face. ‘Untie him,’ Jesus told them, ‘and let him go.’ Many of the people who had come to visit Mary saw what Jesus did, and they believed in him.”
Acts 3:8 “He jumped up, stood on his feet, and started walking around. Then he went into the Temple with them, walking and jumping and praising God”
3. We should never give up!
Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and you will receive, seek, and you will find, knock, and the door will be opened to you”
Luke 11:5-8 “And Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Suppose one of you should go to a friend’s house at midnight and say, “Friend, let me borrow three loaves of bread. A friend of mine who is on a trip has just come to my house, and I don’t have any food for him!” And suppose your friend should answer from inside, ‘Don’t bother me! The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ Well, what then? I tell you that even if he will not get up and give you the bread because you are his friend, yet he will get up and give you everything you need because you are not ashamed to keep on asking.”
Luke 18:1-8 “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to teach them that they should always pray and never become discouraged. ’In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected people. And there was a widow in that same town who kept coming to him and pleading for her rights, saying, “Help me against my opponent!” For a long time the judge refused to act, but at last he said to himself, “Even though I don’t fear God or respect people, yet because of all the trouble this widow is giving me, I will see to it that she gets her rights. If I don’t, she will keep on coming and finally wear me out!”‘ And the Lord continued, ‘Listen to what that corrupt judge said. Now, will God not judge in favour of his own people who cry to him day and night for help? Will he be slow to help them? I tell you, he will judge in their favour and do it quickly. But will the Son of Man find faith on earth when he comes?’”
2 Kings 5:10 “Elisha sent a servant out to tell him to go and wash himself seven times in the Jordan River, and he would be completely cured of his disease”
4. Does personal sin block healing?
John 5:14 “Afterward, Jesus found him in the Temple and said, ‘Listen, you are well now; so stop sinning or something worse may happen to you’”
Revelation 2:2 “I know what you have done; I know how hard you have worked and how patient you have been. I know that you cannot tolerate evil people and that you have tested those who say they are apostles but are not, and have found out that they are liars”
Mark 11:24-25 “For this reason I tell you: When you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for. And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done”
James 5:16 “So then, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed. The prayer of a good person has a powerful effect”
5. Do I have enough faith to be healed?
Luke 17:6 “The Lord answered, ‘If you had faith as big as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, “Pull yourself up by the roots and plant yourself in the sea!” and it would obey you”
6. What about taking my medicine?
Jonah 1:5 “The sailors were terrified and cried out for help, each one to his own god. Then, in order to lessen the danger, they threw the cargo overboard. Meanwhile, Jonah had gone below and was lying in the ship’s hold, sound asleep”
1 Timothy 5:23 “Do not drink water only, but take a little wine to help your digestion, since you are sick so often”
7. Stay in the Word.
Joshua 1:8 “Be sure that the book of the Law is always read in your worship. Study it day and night, and make sure that you obey everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful”
Psalm 1:2 “Instead, they find joy in obeying the Law of the LORD, and they study it day and night”
Mark 4:26-28 “Jesus went on to say, ‘The Kingdom of God is like this. A man scatters seed in his field. He sleeps at night, is up and about during the day, and all the while the seeds are sprouting and growing. Yet he does not know how it happens. The soil itself makes the plants grow and bear fruit; first the tender stalk appears, then the head, and finally the head full of grain”
8. Always be honest.
Mark 5:25-34 “There was a woman who had suffered terribly from severe bleeding for twelve years, even though she had been treated by many doctors. She had spent all her money, but instead of getting better she got worse all the time. She had heard about Jesus, so she came in the crowd behind him, saying to herself, ‘If I just touch his clothes, I will get well.’
She touched his cloak, and her bleeding stopped at once; and she had the feeling inside herself that she was healed of her trouble. At once Jesus knew that power had gone out of him, so he turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples answered, ‘You see how the people are crowding you; why do you ask who touched you?’ But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.
The woman realised what had happened to her, so she came, trembling with fear, knelt at his feet, and told him the whole truth. Jesus said to her, ‘My daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your trouble’”
Romans 4:19-21 “He [Abraham] was then almost one hundred years old; but his faith did not weaken when he thought of his body, which was already practically dead, or of the fact that Sarah could not have children. His faith did not leave him, and he did not doubt God’s promise; his faith filled him with power, and he gave praise to God. He was absolutely sure that God would be able to do what he had promised”
SPIRITUAL BLOCKS TO HEALING
While healing is a provision in the New Covenant, and the Word of God clearly shows that it is the will of God to heal people, not everyone who is prayed for receives healing. We do not understand all of the reasons for this, but there are some spiritual blocks in a person’s life that will prevent them from being healed. These spiritual blocks hinder us from fully walking in the Spirit and receiving the blessings of God.
If we come to Jesus, in faith, asking Him to heal us, and we do not receive healing after we receive prayer, then the first thing we should do is to examine our lives and the condition of our heart. If the Holy Spirit brings conviction of an area that is blocking us from receiving our healing, then we must confess this as sin, be willing to repent, ask God to not only forgive us, but to cleanse us also. Then He will restore us to a condition where we can receive from Him by faith. (1John 1:9) These spiritual blocks need to be repented for with a heart change.Once you have repented, then receive the grace of God to restore your health.
These are just a few basic reasons people do not receive their healing. This list is not exhaustive, but these are the most common.
- Unforgiveness - Matthew 5:44-48 & 18:21-35; Mark 11:25-26; Luke 6:36-38; John 20:23;
- Ignorance or Lack of Knowledge of the Word of God - Isaiah 5:13-14; Hosea 4:6-7 Wisdom is the proper application of knowledge. “Be a doer of the Word and not a hearer only.” James 1:22 The fear of the Lord activates wisdom.
- Willful Disobedience to the Word of God or Habitual Sin or Family (Generational) - Exodus 20:5; Deuteronomy 5:9; Isaiah 59:1-2; Romans 6:1-2; Romans 6:16 & 23
- Not Having Faith in God/ Unbelief - Hebrews 11:6; Hebrews 11:1; Matthew 21:21; Mark 11:22-24; Mark 6:4-6; Matthew 13:58 & 17:20; Hebrews 3:12, 19;
- Not Being Honest and Transparent - Proverbs 16:17; James 5:16; Galatians 6:1-2
- Letting Fear Enter Your Heart - Job 3:24-26; 4:14-15; Hebrews 11:1; John 14:1; Romans 14:23
- Bitterness/Anger/Resentment – Hebrews 12:15; Psalm 38:3; Eph. 4:31
- Murmuring and Complaining - Numbers 12:1-3, 10-15; I Corinthians 10:10-11; Phil. 2:14-15
- Pursuing signs and wonders – signs and wonders are to follow us (Mark 16:20)
- Expecting God to heal on our terms.
- Looking to man rather than God.
- Not discerning the Lord’s body. 1 Cor. 11:27-31 Wrongly discerning what has taken place in the broken body of Jesus. Heb. 10:29
- An unbridled tongue – the tongue is a creative force. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Mark 11:23-24; Heb. 4:12
- What we do can be a road block.
- Being problem centered (self-centered) being ruled by fear, rather than being God-centered. Moving in limits. Heb. 5:11-14
- Having a Cessationist viewpoint – the gifts have all passed away.
Causes these kinds of questions:
- Is healing for all?”
- "I am sick for God’s glory.”
- "God allowed me to be sick to teach me something.”
- “I’ll be healed if it is God’s will.”
CONFESS GOD’S HEALING PROMISES
Proverbs 4:10 “Hear and receive my Word and the years of your life will be many!”
Receiving the Word, and receiving the benefits from the Word of God, comes by being diligent. We must act on the Word in faith and not be a hearer only. (James 1:21-22)
If you have pressing needs for healing in your body read the following Scriptures aloud daily, or several times a day. Proverbs 4:20-23 says, “My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” The word “health” in verse 22 literally means “medicine”. God’s word is medicine to our spirit, soul and body. Take God’s medicine and be made whole.
Meditate on the Scriptures. The word “meditate” means “to mutter to yourself”. This keeps the Word of God filling your mind. The written Word of God is the substance the Holy Spirit uses to make these words living words which produce life and peace to our flesh. Philippians 4:8 says to meditate or think continually about good things. Healing and health is a good thing!
Refuse to compromise with doubt and unbelief in any form.
And remember: God’s Word works, for those who will work the Word!

HOW TO KEEP YOUR HEALING
Satan may try to rob you of your healing by putting doubt into your mind about your healing, causing your symptoms to return. Be aware also that doubt from other people, who are sceptical that you have been healed by God, can rob you of faith and your healing. Or, the enemy may bluff you with a return of symptoms that cause you to doubt that you have been healed.
Reject this doubt.
If you feel symptoms returning, refuse to accept it. If you have received Jesus Christ as your saviour, you have the authority to rebuke the devil and command him to get his hands off your life. Say aloud and forcefully: In the name of Jesus Christ, I rebuke you Satan and command that you get your hands off my life and healing. I am fully healed in Jesus’ name. I thank you Jesus for everything you have purchased for me on the Cross and for protecting me and healing me completely.
KEEP YOUR HEALING – We assume that if God heals us that keeping the healing is automatic. This is not the case. Healing is a manifestation of the grace of God. And the things we receive from God, we must possess by faith and maintain by faith. We have an enemy, the devil, whose desire is to keep you weak, sick, poor, defeated and bound. John 10:10 is called a pivotal passage of Scripture. It is important for every believer to have this truth firmly planted in their mind and heart. Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (or, have it in abundance).”
The nature of God is abundant life. The nature of the devil is to steal, kill and destroy. He is the god (ruler) of this world system and is set out to destroy and oppose everything that God is, and everything God represents. The following Scriptures tell us that the devil will come immediately after we receive the Word of God, or a healing, and try to take it away from us. Pain or symptoms may occur that immediately bring fear into our mind. Or, we may think that we really did not get healed. This is not the truth! Every good gift is given from God. He would not give you something good – healing is good – and then take it away. God is not unjust. We must recognize the tactics of the devil and stand against him in faith. If symptoms return to you after prayer, go to the Word of God and find a promise to base your faith. Do not be moved by the symptoms. This is simply the enemy trying to persuade you to let go of your healing. Then stand against the lie of the devil with the Word of God. He must flee. If this happens to you, and you are having problems standing in faith, do not hesitate to call another believer who can agree in prayer with you. Remember, one can put a thousand to flight, two can put ten thousand to flight. There is power in the prayer of agreement!
"When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart.” Matt 13:19
"The sower sows the word. When a person hears the word, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.” Mark 4:14-15
“Be careful! Watch out for attacks from the Devil, your great enemy. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for some victim to devour. Take a firm stand against him, and be strong in your faith.” 1 Pet 5:8-9 (NLT) '
YOU CAN LIVE FREE FROM SICKNESS & DISEASE'
Once we understand where sickness comes from, we can understand why we are able to get rid of it! God's Word clearly reveals that both death and sickness originated with sin and now are being spread by Satan. (Rom 5:12-21; Job 2:6-7)
Think of all those that Jesus healed - they were all 'oppressed of the devil' Acts 10:38. "Behold, thou are made whole, sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee" John 5:14 Only when sin is taken out of the human race, will there be no more sickness - Rev. 21.
God's Word teaches that forgiveness of sins and healing of the body go hand in hand. Healing is just as easy to receive from God as forgiveness of sins. If you have need of healing, it is only right that you surrender your life to God, if you expect Him to heal you. The body is God's house as well as our own -1 Cor. 6:20.
Satan's Objective
Satan's primary objective is to discredit God. Spoiling our bodies is one way he operates. Created in the image of God, we are caught in the middle of this spiritual battleground. Satan "as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8
He will devour you with disease and sickness if you let him. Our great advantage is that God sent His Son to destroy the works of the devil 1 John 3:8
God through Jesus will destroy Satan's evil works in your body! Our failures come because of an imperfect understanding of God's Word. His Word declares that, "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." John 8:32 Satan your adversary knows the truth better than you do. Until you discover and start claiming what is legally yours, Satan will continue his harassment and assault on your life. He knows your weak areas.
JESUS IS YOUR HEALER
The Bible clearly reveals that God wills to be the 'Healer' of His people and declares His will to heal all those that obey Him. Christ's works of healing were not only to prove His divinity but were a part of His complete mission of fulfilling the will of God. "Lo, I have come to do your will, O God." Heb 10:9
"Great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all." Matt 12:15 Jesus Himself is a revelation of the will of God. He healed all who came to Him. "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8
Matthew 8:16-17 God's Word tells us that Jesus "Healed all that were sick; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying Himself took our infirmities, and bore our sicknesses."
If He bore them then they rightfully and legally belong to Him and for us to take them upon our body is to be taking something that does not belong to us. If Christ took our sins then sins do not belong to the believer.
If Christ took our sickness and pain, then they do not belong to the believer. At the hands of unbelievers, Jesus our Lamb, was beaten. On His body deep furrows were plowed by the awful Roman lash as it literally tore pieces of flesh from His back. THESE WERE THE STRIPES by which Isaiah & Peter say, WE WERE HEALED. And they were laid on HIS BODY.
Jesus our Lamb suffered in two ways, He shed His blood on the cross for our salvation from sin, and He bore the stripes on His Body for our healing from sickness. If you have let Him take your sins, won't you let Him take your sickness? Healing is part of your salvation; do not be cheated out of it any more than you would permit yourself to be cheated out of forgiveness of your sins.
HOW TO BE HEALED
You have the right and authority to claim healing from God when you are a born again Christian -Matt 13:15; when you are diligently listening to God - Ex. 15:26; when you are attending to God's Word -Prov 4:20-22; and when your faith is unwavering - James 1:6-7
Now don't give up, if you don't have enough faith - you can get Faith!! Not everyone believes perfectly every time.
"...Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God." - Rom 10:17
Fill yourself with the appropriate Word of God! "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O Lord my strength, and my redeemer."

PRAYER TO RECEIVE JESUS AND ETERNAL LIFE
If you sincerely wish to have Jesus in your life and be sure that you have an eternal home in Heaven, say the following prayer aloud:
Lord Jesus, I open my heart to you and I receive you now. I believe that you are the Son of God and that you died on the Cross for me. Lord, I ask you to forgive all of my sins. I thank you Jesus and declare that you are my Lord. Please guide me in every area of my life. Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayer. Amen.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
John 3:16
If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
